Astrakhan region in the Caspian system of geopolitical coordinates
Annotation
The article analyzes the value of the Astrakhan region in the implementation of foreign policy of the Russian Federation in the Caspian region. Astrakhan region, occupying favorable for Russia, the geographical position, is the southern Outpost of Russia in the Caspian sea. The author comes to the conclusion that the Astrakhan region as an international actor in its strategic objective is promotion of the interests of the region on the markets of the Caspian region, and creating effective patterns of interaction with these countries to ensure the sustainable development of international and interregional cooperation. In the article the author focuses on the experience of cross-border cooperation of the Astrakhan region with the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as on political and economic international inter-regional cooperation of the Astrakhan region with the countries of near and far abroad.
