THE ARRANGEMENT OF FREE ECONOMIC ZONES IN AZERBAIJAN: SUBSTANTIATION AND SPECIALIZATION OF TERRITORIAL SELECTION

Annotation

Reforms ongoing in the country, extension of economic ties and growth of foreign investments necessitate the establishment of free economic zones (FEZs) in the republic. Disbalanced spread of economies and population further necessitates the selection of a territory for free economic zones. To our mind, attention should be focused on marginal areas in territorial selection. Namely, this region has a rich natural resource potential. Specialization of FEZs should be determined based on economic and geographical location, as well as natural resource potential of a region.
