Annotation

This article discusses the activities of Boris Vasilyevich Köne as manager of the Armorial Division of the Department of Gerolds. The data on the work of B. V. Köne of state, provincial, city heraldry and on the creation of emblems of members of the imperial family are given. The large-scale reform of Russian heraldry carried out by B.V. Köne, the creation of a single Russian state symbolism, and the adoption of uniform rules for the compilation of coat of arms of provinces, regions, cities and posad are described.
