The valuative model of jihad on the example of the typology of Qayyim al-Jawziyya
Annotation
The article considers jihad as a sociocultural phenomenon, interpreted and practically realized within the framework of various discourses. A valuative analysis of the jihad classification of the medieval Arab scholar and theologian Qayyim al-Jawziyya is offered. The multivaluation and variability of the idea of jihad, the various spheres of its realization, as well as the irreducibility of jihad to the practice of armed resistance alone are shown.
