Platonism as a cultural and historical phenomenon

Annotation

An attempt to show the role and significance of Platonism as a cultural and historical phenomenon in general and in Russian philosophical culture, in particular is taken in the article. It is emphasized that Plato's philosophical heritage is not only the past, but on the contrary, it contains thoughts and ideas that are very relevant for understanding and solving a whole range of contemporary problems. Along with the generally recognized Platonism as the largest philosophical doctrine and the cultural and historical phenomenon of world significance, it is noted that Platonism is not alien to scientific knowledge. The question of long tradition of Platonism in Russian philosophy is considered. As a result, several positions of understanding by the author of the role and significance of Plato and Platonism in Russian philosophical culture are presented.
