The image of the strange detective in the paradigm «foreign/other»

Annotation

The article defines the concept of «Detective» and the image of a model describing a «strange» detective as a recognizable typed character in the aspect of the basic socio-cultural binary opposition «Own - non-own», which includes otherness appearance, professional activity, way of life, and portrait speech characteristics. The factors determinating professional success of the «strange» detective are: 1) personal qualities, originality of thinking, eccentricity, the desire for self-realization and success, individualism and independence; 2) self-exaggeration of his activities, actions and personality in general.
