Potential of the new social movements as an example of the antiwar movement

Annotation

Problems of new social movements in general and in particular of the antiwar movement takes on a new urgency to the backdrop of intensified social movements in recent years. Article examines the concept of the new social movements based on the consideration of mass movements in the world, acquired a special significance in the period preceding the end of the Cold War. The paper attempts to identify the internal laws of the phenomenon common to all new social movements in general, makes recommendations for cooperation with these institutions, a forecast of the future of their development in Russia.
