Classification and typology of youth movements and subcultures

Annotation

Modern youth movements and subcultures are an integral part of society. Ideology and philosophy of youth movements and communities, with all its varieties and diversities of phenomena is based on the ideological and value grounds, the study of which may contribute to a clearer understanding of the potential of this social force. The most significant role in the social activity of the youth movements determines their attitude towards peaceful and violent methods. This paper discusses the existing classification of youth movements, and proposes the author's typology with position detection aspirations to extremism or pacifism, the degree of tolerance of intolerance, towards others. On the basis of the proposed typology can organize both existing and emerging youth movement, and other social groups with an ideological base.
