Article is dedicated to the analysis of Astrakhan public charity on the boundary of XIX-XX centuries. It is shown the rich history of the charity, which includes various forms - almshouses, shelters, houses of charity, free medical aid, rendering aid to poor students, donation by things and products to prisons, hospitals and organizations dealt with the charity to poor children.
