decades, the consequences of which we are still experiencing. The authors note that after the
February Revolution, the Provisional Government showed inactivity in resolving the urgent
contradictions in society. The Bolsheviks, having put forward political programs, slogans that met
the interests of the vast majority of the population, not only took power in the Center, but also
managed to establish it in the national outskirts of Russia. The article addresses such a
little-studied issue as the situational alliance of the Bolsheviks with the local Islamic clergy in
Chechnya in 1919 to fight against Denikin's army. The purpose of this article: to consider issues
related to the establishment of Soviet power in Chechnya in 1917-1920. When writing the work, the
works of famous scientists published both in the Soviet period and post-Soviet were involved. The
article concludes that in the struggle for the establishment of Soviet power, the leaders of the
Bolshevik government showed solidarity and devotion to the ideals of their party. Despite all the
negative assessments of the revolutionary transformations of 1917-1920, the authors call for respect
for the choice of previous generations. The accumulated experience must be studied in order to avoid
