The military - political clashes in the Middle East, the growing terrorist threat in this area, where huge reserves of hydrocarbon resources are concentrated, entail negative consequences for the system of international relations. For a long time, tension persists in the Persian Gulf zone. This negatively affects security, political and economic stability in the region and in the world as a whole, since the largest center of the transnational terrorist network has formed in this zone. Under the current conditions, a complex of effective actions is required at the international and regional levels in the interests of rectifying and subsequently improving the situation in the Persian Gulf zone, overcoming the crisis situation and realizing the transformation of the region into a course of peace, good neighborliness and sustainable development. The author, through institutional and systemic methods, analyzes the relationships between regional players, and also analyzes the intra - clan processes of the elites of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, through the prism of regional security. Based on the analysis of events, the author aims to develop recommendations on Russia's position in the process of Middle East events.</p></abstract><abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Security in the Middle East is one of the most important regional issues of our time.
