The article attempts to draw attention to some differences in political culture studies in the western political science tradition and in the Russian one. It is emphasized that in the Western researchers studies a wide range of problems concerning political culture is being considered. Most of the authors in their political culture studies refer to the American political scientists conceptions of the second half of the РҐРҐ century. Attention is drawn to the fact that many theses carried out by Russian authors in the late XX - early XXI centuries have an empirical focus. They are devoted to the political culture of specific communities study or analyze the Russian political culture as a whole.
