In the process of research it is revealed that the problem field of intellectual discourse, despite the fact that it is of a sufficiently versatile nature, is very stable and finds its expression, including, in modern philosophical thought. Traditional become a reflection about their own identity, messianic aspirations, the problem of relations with the European culture, attempts to determine the place of Russia in European civilization, peculiar manifestation of the image of the past. The constant striving for self-understanding of Russian thinkers designated as one of the main mental characteristics of Russian civilization and has become an important national trait, which is expressed through a number of identified issues. According to the author, their philosophical realization is a kind of attractor Russian intellectual discourse and does not lose its relevance in today's culture and philosophical thought.
