This article is devoted to the actual problem of the study of images of the future in Soviet society of the 40-50's. XX century. Images of the socialist future were formed by the scientific and expert community of the Soviet Union. They were presented for free discussion in the framework of both party and mass discussions. The formation of the image of the future in the USSR was influenced by numerous factors, conditioned, first of all, by the internal logic of the development of the Soviet community.
