The article discusses the concept of the political role of intellectuals, invited the famous Italian political philosopher Norberto Bobbio, reveals the origins of this concept; shows historical circumstances responsible for its elaborations, debate and discussions that prompted thinker to problem statement the problem of the role of intellectuals. The Bobbio's concept role of the of intellectuals in politics proposed in his book В«Politics and cultureВ» (1955), is a coherent, philosophically sound concept, relevant to this day.
