Taking into consideration the importance of integration processes, the authorities of cross-border regions strive to strengthen regional integration. Cross-border cooperation serves as the initial level of inter-state cooperation. There are several models and forms of cross-border cooperation which are stipulated by regional, Political Science, economic and functional peculiarities of regions. The European and the Asian models are the most widely used models of cross-border cooperation. The European model is the basis of integration processes in Europe and is carried out in the form of Euroregions. The Asian model is the integration of markets of East Asian countries and is based on the principle of mutual complementation of economic systems of the countries involved.
