Nowadays the issue of the social mobility in the conditions of emigration is very urgent. The article is aimed at the study of the social mobility of Russian young people in the conditions of emigration to Germany and the determination of the opportunity to maintain social status gained as Russian Federation citizen by Russian young people or to increase it. The study object is Russian young people emigrated to Germany. In terms of the findings got in the framework of the qualitative research that the author carried out in October-February 2012 within scholarship program «Immanuel Kant»of DAAD, the position of Russian young people in the social space involving changing of the position in geographical one is analyzed. The main causes of downward social mobility of Russian young people and the conditions of their upward social mobility in the conditions of emigration are also determined.
