The work deals with questions concerning the process of restoration the social sphere of Stalingrad region in 1943-1945. Fighting in the region has caused enormous damage to its economy. The article shows the role of local authorities in the implementation of the rehabilitation of housing and communal services, food supply, local industrial enterprises producing consumer goods, health care, education, culture and enlightenment. The role of cherkassky crews in restoration of a housing and household facilities of the region is noted. The value of local food base in the decision of problems of provision the population of Stalingrad region in 1943-1945 is considered with food stuffs, actions of executive committees of local advice, city committees of defense and party committees in its formation are shown.
