The article is devoted to the social and cultural processes in the environment of the Nogai living in the city of Astrakhan. The author considers the problem of changes in traditional culture of the Nogai in the city conditions. Particular attention is paid to the problem of ethnic identity. The features of the socio-cultural characteristics of different groups of Astrakhan Nogay and their relationships with the resettled from the North Caucasus to the city of Astrakhan Nogays. There has been separately reviewed a problem of ethno-religious processes specificity in Nogay youth sphere. The conclusions about the level of the city Nogai's inclusion into the urbanization process based on the ethno cultural data analysis have been made.
