This article is devoted to fundamental bases of cultural security. The main approaches to determination of cultural safety are analysed in this article. The main problems which allow to define specifics of cultural safety among other, again appeared forms of safety are formulated. In article the number of questions is put: that, as, from whom and how we protect in the culture sphere. The society put a problem about needing a preservation of cultural security and such statement is a reaction of society to invasion into our life of numerous and diverse Strangers. Our first and natural reaction on a problem of Stranger is the fear. However there is a question – of whom we are afraid: the real Stranger, or the image designed by us, which is rather negative. And in general, is a Stranger exist a as an ontologic phenomenon or it is only an epistemological design. In article various options of coexistence with the Stranger and searches of ways of overcoming of fear are planned. It is possible as a result of creation of space "between" in which the system of communications with the Stranger is developed.
