The article describes the legislative framework of competition policy in Russia. Given the author’s definition of the state of competition policy, and examines the structural elements of the competitive environment. Particular emphasis is focused on the instruments of state of competition policy and its evaluation in comparison with other countries. The author summarizes the shortcomings of the competitive environment and identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the elements in the competitive position of the country, indicating the direction of the tools of competition policy in the near future.
