As a part of Privolzhskiy federal district, Ulyanovsk region is traditionally a region of close residence of the following nationalities: Russians, Tatar, Chuvash, Mordvins. Due to the adequate economic and social policy of the local authorities and some other subjective and objective conditions, the stability, interaction and cooperation of the ethic groups have been secured on the official level and in everyday life during the whole period of reforming in Soviet Union and present Russia.</p></abstract><abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article indicates the analysis of the ethnic and political stability of Ulyanovsk region from 1990s to the present time.
