In this article the author analyzes culture as one of the most important sphere of social life. The author stresses on consideration of society's contemporary condition through the prism of culture, which helps to explain many contradictory processes in social and spiritual life of Russia. The author analyzes the results of all-Russia sociological survey in order to find out special features of spiritual culture's development. There are some conclusions and recommendations in the end of this article concerning the situation of spiritual culture in the XXI century.
