The article presents the deep analysis of religious terms defining different cult places, places of devotions and shrines. The authors elaborated a typology of cult places in Astrakhan region and give their main characteristics. Using sociological methods the researchers clear up the population's attitude to cult places in the region and demonstrate multireligious tendencies in mentality of the citizens of Astrakhan region.
