In the present article the political problems of development of federalism in modern Russia (the end of the XX - the beginning of the XXI century), various aspects of mutual relations of the Federal centre are characterized and the subjects of Federation, the specificity of the federal device of the Russian Federation are analyzed, the basic problems without which decision of federal attitudes will remain rather complex are allocated, and the political future of the Federation will look rather vaguely.
