This article is aimed at the forming principles analysis of the state politics in the liberty of conscience and religious freedom sphere. It is also intended to reveal the post-Soviet period problems concerning the matters in question. Nowadays Russia is a multinational and mul-ticonfessional country, and the state confessional politics is still in the making. Taking these facts into account we may conclude that these matters are of current importance and will retain their topicality for a long time.
