In this article the existence of different theoretical and methodological approaches to the mentality researches in foreign and home literature is discussed. The author supposes that the mentality study in modern society should be based on both existent and widely used theoretical and methodological approaches and principally new ones. Non-classical sociological theories (including sociological vitalism) can take on special significance in such kind of researches.
