The author supposes that the mentality study in modern society should be based on both existent and widely used theoretical and methodological approaches and principally new ones. Non-classical sociological theories (including sociological vitalism) can take on special significance in such kind of researches.</p></abstract><abstract xml:lang="en"><p>In this article the existence of different theoretical and methodological approaches to the mentality researches in foreign and home literature is discussed.
